For this collage, my 15 brainstorming ideas were as follows:
Below are some pictures I took while completing the collage, and the final result: Self Evaluation Questions:
1. Describe why you chose your subject matter and what makes the composition interesting? I chose the Sydney Opera House because I think its shape is interesting, and I think my use of textures makes this composition interesting. 2. Describe the accuracy of your proportion, values and shading. I believe the proportion and values are accurate, however my shading is not the best, especially in the upper parts of the sky. 3. How did you use texture to add visual interest? I used texture for parts of the background, and for smaller details in the building itself. 4. How did you decide what shapes and textures to use for your collage? I tried using textures that went along with the original image, and I wanted to use a variety of shapes to add variety. 5. Do you feel that you used a full range of values to reproduce your photo in the collage format? How have you attempted to create depth using foreground, middle ground and background? I feel like I was able to use a good range of values to reproduce my original reference image, and I attempted to create depth by making details further back smaller. 6. Describe your craftsmanship. Is the artwork executed and neatly crafted? I believe that my artwork is neatly crafted and presented. 7. Describe how you might improve your artwork if you were to redo the project? If I were to redo the project, I would improve it by adding more details towards the bottom of the collage, where I feel I missed a lot of smaller details. For this assignment, we had to take 9 photos using compositional techniques. On the right are my 2 favorite photos
